Republic of Korea: Opened consultation on UK-South Korea FTA modernisation including a Digital Trade Chapter

On 9 December 2022, the United Kingdom (UK) Department for International Trade opened a consultation concerning the future modernisation of the Free Trade Agreement between the UK and South Korea, which will close on 2 February 2023. Among others, the UK is seeking comments on the possible negotiation of a Digital Trade Chapter in the context of the FTA, considering that the Electronic Commerce Chapter currently in force covers issues that are limited in scope compared to both countries’ more recent trade agreements.
