On 7 December 2022, the United Kingdom and Japan announced the launch of a Digital Partnership, including commitments to increase the cyber resilience of both countries. In particular, the parties agreed to collaborate bilaterally and internationally to address the increasing complexities of cyber attacks. Under the Partnership, the parties will advance initiatives that promote requirements such as security by design for the internet of things (IoT) products and applications, strengthening the digital supply chain and security of data infrastructure, including cloud and data centres.
