Published Telecommunications Security Code of Practice

On 1 December 2022, the regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries (Ofcom) published the Telecommunications Security Code of Practice which aims to provide guidance on how public telecoms providers can comply with the “Electronic Communications (Security Measures) Regulations 2022” that entered into force on 1 October 2022. The Code of Practice outlines specific security measures that should be adopted by telecom providers to comply with their legal obligations and sets out the implementation timeframes for the technical guidance measures.
