On 30 November 2022, the United Kingdom and Ukraine announced that they had reached an agreement in principle on Digital Trade (DTA). In particular, the DTA specifies that the countries must maintain data protection regulations in line with principles such as transparency, accountability, data quality, data minimization and purpose specification. Furthermore, the DTA outlines protections for cryptographic information. The businesses selling technological consumer goods will not be required to share their cryptographic information or source code as a condition to enter the market.
