On 26 October 2022, the Consumer Rights Act 2022 was passed in the Irish Parliament (House of Oriachtas). The Act will establish specific obligations for traders in order to ensure greater transparency for consumers before and after purchase. The Act also provides consumers with greater protections when buying digital services and content. Further, consumers will have access to redress in the case of faulty goods or services. Finally, the Act regulates online reviews and prohibits the posting of false reviews.
