Adopted Bill ratifying Council of Europe Convention No 108 on Data Protection

On 9 November 2022, the Argentinian Congress ratified the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (Council of Europe Convention No. 108 on Data Protection) and its Additional Protocol. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe approved Argentina’s request to enter the Convention on September 2017. The Convention establishes a number of principles for member states to transpose into their domestic legislation to ensure data protection, such as the right of access, rectification or erasure by data subjects.
