Signed Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Cybersecurity Labels for Consumer Smart Products

On 20 October 2022, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) signed a Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Cybersecurity Labels for Consumer Smart Products. The agreement covers technological consumer goods, such as smartphones, smart cameras and smart televisions. The CSA has initiated a Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) that rates the devices' cybersecurity standard with a numeric value from 1 to 4. The agreement would allow the ratings of the CSA to be recognised in Germany and the BSI's ratings to be recognised in Singapore. More specifically, a device with a BSI label will be counted as a CSA level 2.
