Extension of consultation period on Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Telecommunication Sector

On 21 October 2022, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) extended the consultation period of the Paper titled "Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Telecommunication Sector" (Paper). The consultation was extended following the stakeholders' request. The last date for submission of comments on the Paper is 4 November 2022, and the Counter comments on 18 November 2022. The Paper details the opportunities and risks involved in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data (BD) in telecommunications and invites views on several issues concerning their adoption, including general requirements to develop and deploy AI models in the telecom sector, challenges faced by the telecom service providers in adopting AI and efficient and effective handling of BD by adopting special programming models.
