Implemented Roskomnadzor country list with adequate protection for cross-border data transfer

On 1 March 2023, the list of 89 foreign countries which fulfil an adequate security level for cross-border data transfer approved by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of Russia, Roskomnadzor, came into force. Inclusion on the list was subject to the following conditions: a comprehensive regulatory legal act on personal data; an authorized data protection agency; and a system of sanctions for violations of personal data regulations.
