Adopted Roskomnadzor list of countries with adequate protection for cross-border data transfer

On 23 September 2022, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of Russia, Roskomnadzor, launched a list of 89 foreign countries which provide adequate personal data protection level for cross-border data transfer. Inclusion on the list was subject to the following conditions: a comprehensive regulatory legal act on personal data; an authorized data protection agency; and a system of sanctions for violations of personal data regulations. The country list comes into force on 1 March 2023.
