Imposed fine after investigation on Apple for selling iPhones without chargers

On 19 March 2021, the Consumer Protection Foundation of the State of São Paulo (Procon-SP) imposed a fine of USD 2 million after its investigation against APPLE COMPUTER BRASIL LTDA for selling iPhones without chargers. After being asked to justify its behaviour, the company did not respond. Procon-SP charges the business with deceptive advertising, marketing products with manufacturing flaws, abusive conditions in consumer contracts, and failing to fix a product while it was still covered by warranty.
