On 2 February 2022, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) closed its consultation on the merger between NortonLifeLock Inc. and Avast plc. The two cybersecurity companies intend to merge to create a business selling online security software. The CMA will consider whether such a consolidation would lead to a substantial lessening of competition within any UK market.
