Public hearing on joining the DEPA

The Korean government held a public hearing on joining the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA). According to the official statement, the government is proceeding with the domestic procedures for joining DEPA. The DEPA is an agreement on trade in the digital economy between Singapore, Chile and New Zealand which entered into force earlier this year. It creates a common framework for data protection, establishes common rules on digital trade and removes digital barriers for businesses.
