Spain: Adoption of General Telecommunications Law 11/2022 including Personal Data Protection provisions

On 21 June 2022, the General Telecommunications Law 11/2022, which transposes the European Electronic Communications Code, was adopted. The law regulates aspects related to users' data and outlines personal data protection measures. The measures are listed in Chapter III, which deals with the protection of fundamental rights, the secrecy of communications and the protection of personal data, as well as public rights and obligations in connection with electronic communications networks and services. Furthermore, the Act specifies the information that entities have to provide users via software or files (cookies).
