Introduction of General Telecommunications Law 11/2022 including Personal Data Protection Provision

On 26 November 2021, the General Telecommunications Bill, which transposes the European Electronic Communications Code, was introduced in Spain's Parliament. The Bill would also regulate aspects related to users' personal data and provide more effective protection for them. The information given to the user via software or files (cookies) would be extended. These regulations are mainly found in Chapter III, which deals with the protection of fundamental rights, the secrecy of communications and the protection of personal data, as well as public rights and obligations in connection with electronic communications networks and services.
