Adopted Gigabit Strategy 2030

On 13 July 2022, the German Government adopted the Gigabit Strategy (Gigabitstrategie), which aims to expand nationwide fibre-optic networks into all households, and businesses in cities and rural areas by 2030. In addition, the strategy aims to provide fast mobile broadband everywhere people live, work and travel by 2030, and half of households and companies should already be connected by the end of 2025. Finally, the strategy will establish a new "Gigabit land registry " to bundle and make available relevant information regarding fibre and mobile expansion while increasing transparency.
