Announced Gigabit Strategy 2030

On 17 March 2022, the German Government announced its Gigabit Strategy (Gigabitstrategie), which aims to expand nationwide fibre-optic networks into all households, and businesses in cities and rural areas by 2030. In particular, the strategy envisages ensuring fast mobile broadband everywhere people live, work and travel by 2030, and triple the number of fibre optic connections by the end of 2025.
