On 18 June 2021, the European Commission issued a Statement of Objections regarding the investigation into Insurance Ireland's potential restriction of competition through unfair conditions of access to its Insurance Link data pooling system. The Commission stated that its preliminary view is that Insurance Ireland willfully delayed or de facto denied access to the data pooling system, in breach of EU antitrust rules.
