KVKK published Guideline on Use of Cookies

On 20 June 2022, the Turkish Data protection authority (KVKK) published the Guidelines on Use of Cookies. The guide contains recommendations for website operators on using cookies to process personal data in compliance with the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data (No. 6698). The guidelines cover cookie types, use of cookies, legitimate consent, user information and the interaction with Communication Laws. Particularly the guidelines establish a series of definitions on the types of cookies and specify the criteria to determine the users' explicit consent.
