Turkiye: Opened consultation on KVKK Draft Guidelines on Use of Cookies

The Turkish Data protection authority (KVKK) has opened a public consultation on the draft Guidelines on Use of Cookies until 10 February 2022. The guidelines aim to ensure the website operators' compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law, covering cookie types, use of cookies, legitimate consent, user information and the interaction of the guidelines with Communication Laws. Particularly, the guidelines establish a series of definitions on the types of cookies and specify the criteria to determine the users' explicit consent.
