Introduced House File 1184 includes rules for app stores

On 18 February 2021, the Minnesota House File 1184 is introduced to the Minnesota House of Representatives, aiming to prohibit App stores from requiring developers to use specific app stores or in-app payment systems. Furthermore, app stores are prohibited from disadvantaging developers which choose a different app store or payment method. Violations of these rules will be prosecuted through the attorney general under section 8.31 of the Minnesota Statutes 2020.
