Adopted Revised Regulations on the Administration of Mobile Internet Application Information Services including cybersecurity measures

On 14 June 2022, the Revised Provisions on the Administration of Mobile Internet Application Information Services, which include user cybersecurity regulations, were adopted. The Provisions will apply to both application distribution platforms and providers of applications involving information services, such as messaging, e-commerce, audio and video services. App providers will be required to abide by existing network security standards, take appropriate remedial action and notify both users and the relevant authorities in case of an incident. Furthermore, they will need to establish appropriate data security measures, including taking technical measures and implementing a monitoring process. Application distribution platforms will also be required to discontinue their service to apps that are found to contain security risks.
