European Union: EC fine against Qualcomm for abuse of dominance

On 24 January 2018, the European Commission fined Qualcomm EUR 997 million for abusing its dominant position. The Commission based its finding on the existence of incentive agreements in Qualcomm's dealings with Apple through which Qualcomm disincentivised Apple from switching to alternative LTE chipset providers.
