Description

Introduction of an amendment to House Bill 2005 changes rules for app stores

On 10 February 2020, House Bill 2005 was introduced to the Arizona House of Representatives. The Bill imposes changes on mobile app stores above the threshold of 1 million downloads by Arizona-based users. Specifically, the Bill would allow alternative in-app payment systems and prohibit any sort of retaliation against app developers that use a different payment system. Possible wrongdoings could either be prosecuted by the Attorney General or be commended through civil action by a person aggrieved by the violation.
