India: Opened consultation on National Data Governance Framework Policy

On 26 May 2022, the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology published the draft National Data Governance Framework policy and opened a public consultation until 11 June 2022. The draft policy proposes the creation of an initiative regarding datasets of non-personal of citizens for use by governmental and private organisations to enhance services. It further covers the processes and standards that must be followed to guarantee that non-personal and anonymised data from both government and commercial entities is safely available to the research and innovation ecosystem.
