Uber fined by Italian Data Protection Authority
On 23 March 2022, the Italian Data Protection Authority fined Uber B.V. EUR 4'240'000. Uber was found to have mismanaged its user and employee data. Particularly, the data was processed without explicit consent from the users and Uber did not notify its drivers or riders of necessary privacy notices.
