Roskomnadzor announces drawing of administrative protocol against Wikipedia
On 31 March 2022, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media of Russia, Roskomnadzor, announced that it is drafting an administrative protocol against Wikipedia for not taking down posts classified as ”false” and “illegal”. The agency noted that it has notified Wikipedia that the information regarding the operation in Ukraine posted on their platform was inaccurate and demanded to be rectified or taken down. Furthermore, Roskomnadzor stated that the platform failed to comply and it risks penalties of up to RUB 4 million.
