On 21 March 2022, the West Viginia legislative session ended without passing House Bill 4454 related to consumer privacy, which is thus rejected. The Act would have established the consumer right to opt-out of any sale or sharing of his or her personal information as well as the right to no retaliation following any opt-out or exercise of the other rights providing for methods of limiting the sale, sharing, and use of sensitive personal information.
