Introduced House Bill 4454 establishing consumer privacy right

On 31 January 2022, the West Viginia House Bill 4454 was introduced. The Bill aims to amend the Code of West Virginia by adding a new article (46) relating to the consumer right to limit the sale and sharing of personal information. The Act establishes the consumer right to opt-out of any sale or sharing of his or her personal information as well as the right to no retaliation following any opt-out or exercise of the other rights providing for methods of limiting the sale, sharing, and use of sensitive personal information.
