Bill on amendments to social services law and certain other laws including content moderation regulation was introduced to Grand National Assembly

On 4 March 2026, the Bill on Amendments to the Social Services Law and Certain Other Laws (Bill No. 263), including content moderation regulation, was introduced to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Article 22 of the Bill would amend Additional Article 4 of Law No. 5651 on the Regulation of Publications on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed Through Such Publications by adding new content moderation obligations on social network providers and expanding the scope of an existing obligation. The pre-existing takedown obligation on social network providers, currently limited to content within the scope of Articles 9 and 9/A of Law No. 5651, would be extended to all categories of content moderation decisions issued under Law No. 5651.
