On 22 March 2022, the "Act To Protect Consumers' Privacy by Giving Them Greater Control of Their Data and To Establish Consumer Protections Regarding Small Dollar Loans" (LD 1982/SP 713) is rejected. The bill would have introduced the consumers' rights to request personal information access and deletion. Moreover, the bill would have allowed consumers to opt-out from the sale of personal data and bring a civil action to recover damages in the case of unauthorized access to personal information due to the failure of the protective measures enacted by the data controller.
