Description

New York Attorney General’s Office announced jury verdict against Live Nation Entertainment over monopoly in ticketing services

On 15 April 2026, the New York Attorney General’s Office and a coalition of 33 state attorneys general secured a jury verdict against Live Nation Entertainment and Ticketmaster for violating federal and state antitrust laws. The verdict found that Ticketmaster unlawfully maintained a monopoly in primary ticketing services, while Live Nation monopolised large amphitheatres and required artists performing at its venues to use its promotion services, thereby restricting competition. The conduct led to higher ticket prices for consumers, including an average overcharge of USD 1.72 per ticket in New York. The case will proceed to a separate bench trial to determine remedies and financial penalties.
