On 31 March 2026, the Council of Ministers of Poland adopted a proposal for the Act on Artificial Intelligence Systems, which will be introduced to Parliament to transpose the European Union's AI Act into Polish law. The Act would apply to entities developing and deploying AI systems across the economy. The Act would impose obligations on AI providers and deployers to assess risks, maintain transparency, and implement safeguards aligned with EU standards. The Act would establish the Commission for the Development and Security of Artificial Intelligence (KRiBSI) as the national supervisory authority, with powers to conduct administrative proceedings, issue decisions, impose sanctions for violations, and handle citizen complaints against AI system decisions. The Commission would also support AI innovation through regulatory sandboxes and coordinate public consultation via a stakeholder advisory board. Citizens would gain the right to challenge AI decisions, access information on AI system deployments, and report complaints to KRiBSI. The Act will enter into force upon parliamentary adoption and subsequent publication.
