Competition and Consumer Commission fined Photobookshop AUD 39'600 over misleading influencer marketing

On 24 March 2026, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission fined Photobookshop AUD 39'600 over misleading influencer reviews. It was stated that between August 2024 and September 2025, the platform commissioned influencers and instructed them not to disclose that reviews were incentivised with free products. It also posted reviews without disclosure and edited a video review to remove negative comments without informing consumers. The ACCC found this conduct misleading under the Australian Consumer Law, as it created the false impression of genuine, independent reviews.
