Implemented increase in penalty in Amendment to Personal Data Protection Act

On 1 October 2022, the increase of the maximum financial penalty imposable for data breaches is fully implemented. In particular, the maximum is increased to the higher amount between USD 1 million or 10% of the organisation’s annual turnover in Singapore.
