Description

Decree No. 2026-60 relating to experimentation of games with monetisable digital objects including authorisation requirements entered into force

On 7 February 2026, Decree No. 2026-60 on the experimentation of games with monetisable digital objects entered into force. The decree was issued pursuant to Articles 40 and 41 of Law No. 2024-449 of 21 May 2024 on securing and regulating the digital space. It establishes a three-year experimental regime for online games, allowing adult players who have made a financial contribution to obtain monetisable digital objects through a chance-based mechanism, with no possibility of monetary gain. Any legal person intending to offer such games to the public must submit a prior declaration to the National Gaming Authority (ANJ). The declaration must include the legal person’s identification details, company name, trade names, registered office, and legal form, and designate the persons responsible for ensuring the games comply with applicable rules.
