The investigation concerned the company's operation of a website named “DeepSeek Local Deployment” using wording, icons, and page layouts highly similar to the official DeepSeek website without authorisation. The SAMR determined that the company violated Articles 7(1) and (3) of the Interim Provisions on Anti-Unfair Competition on the Internet and Article 6(3) of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People’s Republic of China (2019 version), ordering the company to cease the conduct and imposing a fine of CNY 30’000.
