Data (Use and Access) Act including new intimate image-related offences received royal assent
On 19 June 2025, the Data (Use and Access) Act received royal assent, including an amendment to the Sexual Offences Act 2003 to create the new offences of creating or requesting the creation of a purported intimate image of an adult. The provision in question will enter into force on a date specified by the Secretary of State in subsequent regulations.
