On 30 January 2026, the Senate passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026 (HR7148), which includes an extension of the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA). The version of the Act passed by the Senate contains amendments, meaning that it will return to the House for a vote before being adopted. The Appropriations Act would extend the applicability of CISA, which establishes a framework for private entities and government agencies to share information about cyber threat indicators, until 30 September 2026. Currently, CISA is set to expire on 30 January 2026.
