Parties to Digital Economy Partnership Agreement announced substantive conclusive of discussions for Peru's accession

On 13 January 2026, the Parties to the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA), including Chile, New Zealand, Singapore and the Republic of Korea, announced the substantive conclusion of discussions on the Republic of Peru’s accession to the DEPA. Following an assessment by the accession working group chaired by the Republic of Korea, the parties concluded that Peru’s legal framework, policies and practices are capable of complying with the provisions of the DEPA. The accession will become final upon the completion of each Party's domestic procedures and the DEPA accession process. The Agreement establishes rules and cooperation frameworks on digital trade facilitation, consumer protection, cross-border data flows, regulatory interoperability and emerging digital economy issues.
