On 4 February 2026, the National Communications Authority closes the public consultation, which had been open since 6 January 2026, on the draft Value Added Services (VAS) Guidelines. The draft guidelines intended to clarify the regulatory framework for the provision of Value Added Services in Ghana, including the interpretation, classification, registration and, where applicable, licensing of Value Added Services under the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775) and the Electronic Communications Regulations, 2011 (LI 1991). The consultation was conducted under section 3(r) of the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769) and Section 27 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775). It invited submissions from Licensed Telecom Network Service Providers, Value Added Service Providers, other Licensed Communications Service Providers, broadcasters, consumers of Information and Communication Technology services, and the general public.
