Description

Office of Communications issued information notice to First Time Videos over failure to respond to notice pertaining to implementation of age assurance measures

On 15 January 2026, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) issued an information notice to First Time Videos LLC under section 100 of the Online Safety Act 2023. Under the section, Ofcom can require relevant service providers to provide information, including real-time system data, to exercise its online safety functions. On 10 June 2025, Ofcom announced an investigation into First Time Videos LLC as part of Ofcom's enforcement programme, which focuses on the duties set out in Part 5 of the Act, requiring providers of pornographic content to implement highly effective age verification measures to prevent children from accessing such material. As no response has been received to the notice, Ofcom is investigating whether the company has failed to comply with its duty to respond accurately to an information notice sent under the Act.
