Description

Consultation opened on Guidelines for Implementing Subject Responsibilities on Internet Platforms (Draft)

On 29 October 2021, China's State Administration for Market Supervision (SAMR) published and opened a consultation on the Guidelines for Implementing Subject Responsibilities on Internet Platforms (Draft). The draft guidelines detail the responsibilities of internet platforms depending on their classification according to the Guidelines for Classification and Grading of Internet Platforms (Draft). For example, companies classified as super platforms on account of having more than 500 million active annual users, a range of services, and a market value of over CNH 1 trillion will have additional responsibilities, e.g. in the areas of fair competition and data security. The consultation will close on 8 November 2021.
