China: Deadline for submitting audit reports under the Regulations on the Protection of Minors on the Internet ends

On 31 January 2026, the deadline ends for submitting audit reports required under the Regulations on the Protection of Minors on the Internet. Article 37 requires personal information processors to conduct annual compliance audits of their handling of minors’ personal information and to submit the audit report to the municipal-level cyberspace administration by the end of January each year via the “Personal Information Protection Business System”. Failure to comply may result in legal consequences.
