United States of America: Announced US State Attorneys General investigation on TikTok

The Attorneys General of California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Vermont have announced a bipartisan joint investigation on whether the social media platform TikTok causes or exacerbates physical and mental health harms among children, teens, and young adults. Particularly, the investigation will focus on the potential harms caused by techniques used to boost young user engagement and the time spent on the platform, looking into the company's knowledge of perpetuated harms.
