Issued court ruling requiring TikTok to provide information in the State Attorneys General's investigation into the platform's physical and mental health effects on children

On 12 December 2023, a North Carolina Superior Court ordered TikTok to comply with the North Carolina Attorney General's investigation, conducted in cooperation with other states' Attorneys General. The company is suspected of causing mental and physical harm to children through techniques promoting children's engagement, therefore possibly violating state consumer protection laws. The Attorney General alleged TikTok has been refusing to comply with the investigation and now has to provide a list with Zoom recordings to the Attorney General.
