Description

Office of Communications announced AVS Group introduced age assurance measures across all adult websites covered by its investigation

On 17 December 2025, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) confirmed that AVS Group has introduced new age assurance measures across all adult websites covered by its investigation, following a GBP 1 million fine for failing to implement robust age checks on 18 pornographic sites. Ofcom stated that it will continue to monitor these websites to ensure the measures are effective in preventing children from accessing pornographic content. The investigation was initiated on 31 July 2025 and expanded on 28 August 2025, amid concerns about the adequacy of age-assurance mechanisms deployed across AVS Group’s pornography platforms. Collectively, these platforms attract more than 9 million monthly visits from the UK across 34 websites.
