Office of Communications fined AVS Group GBP 1 million for breaches of age-assurance and information-notice duties under Online Safety Act

On 4 December 2025, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) fined AVS Group GBP 1 million for breaches of age-assurance and information-notice duties under the Online Safety Act. Ofcom also fined AVS Group GBP 50'000 for failing to respond to information requests. A daily penalty of GBP 300 per day, beginning 5 December 2025, will be imposed until it responds or 60 days have passed, whichever is sooner. The investigation, initiated on 31 July 2025 and expanded on 28 August 2025, concerns the deployment of age-assurance mechanisms across AVS Group’s pornography platforms to prevent minors from accessing such content. The AVS Group collectively attracts over 9 million monthly UK visits across 34 targeted websites.
