On 7 May 2025, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation introduced a draft Artificial Intelligence Bill to Congress including tax benefits for artificial intelligence innovation. The draft provides that the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, in coordination with the National Council of Tax Benefits, will design and adopt prioritisation criteria for science, technology and innovation projects seeking access to tax benefits when developing AI-based solutions or adopting AI technologies to improve production processes. These prioritisation criteria are intended to promote the transfer of technology and knowledge to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and to encourage the creation of science and technology-based ventures in the field of artificial intelligence. The draft links these measures to strengthening the national innovation ecosystem and supporting the sustainable development of the country.
