Office of Communications closes investigation into Trendio's compliance with age assurance obligations under Online Safety Act

On 19 November 2025, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) closed its investigation into Trendio’s adult sites following review of concerns over missing age-assurance measures required under section 12 of the Online Safety Act 2023. On 31 July 2025, Ofcom opened a compliance investigation into Trendio Ltd to assess whether its pornography sites use the highly effective age-assurance required under the Act. It was stated that the company provided information demonstrating good-faith steps toward meeting its duties, and Ofcom decided it was not appropriate to continue the case. It was also stated that Ofcom made no findings on Trendio Ltd’s past or current compliance and that the company remains subject to obligations under the Act.
